FESA CFA Stock Simulator Challenge
The Stock Simulator Challenge is a competition designed to simulate real-world trading scenarios. Each participant will receive a virtual cash balance ($100,000) to build and manage their investment portfolios. The challenge will run over 5 months (October 2, 2023 to February 15, 2024), during which teams will have the opportunity to execute trades and monitor their portfolio performance. At the end of the competition, prizes would be awarded to the best-performing portfolios.
We use a new Simulator now, follow the steps below to register ASAP!!
How to Join
Joining is free and simple, follow the steps below to join:
Website
Open the MarketWatch Virtual Stock Exchange website.
Select the "Sign Up" link in the upper right corner.
On the Sign In page, scroll to the bottom and select "Not a member? Register here." under the sign in buttons.
Register your account by adding your name, email, and create a password.
After logging in, click on the “Find a game” tab and search for FESA CFA Stock Simulator
Click on the game and enter the password uwfesacfa
Mobile
Sign up with an account using the steps outlined above
Go to the App Store/Play Store and install the MarketWatch Stock Market Game app
Sign in using your created account details
Click on the 'Find Games' tab
Search by the game name FESA CFA Stock Simulator Challenge
Click on 'Join Game' to join the game. A pop up will appear.
Enter the password uwfesacfa and then press 'Join Game'

Leverage
Margin accounts are allowed. The Simulator lets you borrow 100% (x2) of the value of long equity positions (regular stock) or cash. The margin interest is 10%.
Derivatives
Options/derivatives are not allowed in the game.
Short Selling
Short selling is an investment or trading strategy that speculates on the decline in a stock or other security's price. You are allowed to short sell stocks using a margin account, however note that short selling is very risky.
Entry Requirements
Late entry to the challenge is allowed till November 1st.

Commission per trade is $9.99
Limit Orders, Stop Loss and Partial Shares are allowed
Minimum holding period for a security is 3 days. The punishment for violating this rule is -2% to your ROI calculation at the end of period. Candidates that participate in day trading will be disqualified.
